Overview

What will TeenStreet 2020 look like?

For all the TeenStreet friends out there who know and love the culture and community of TeenStreet, it might be hard to imagine TeenStreet without the TS boulevard, the cocktail bar, dancing around, being in one place with so many nationalities, and experiencing the incredible presence of God in the Throne Room.

Let’s be honest, we can’t broadcast the full TeenStreet experience, but we can still dig deep into God’s Word and discover more about living radically for Jesus. Many of us can meet in small groups to experience the week together! Connect with your NET group leader to find out how you can be together during the week of the TeenStreet event. If you don’t have a leader, get a group of friends together to meet in homes or in your church.

Some of you might be in a situation where you will not be able to meet with other teens face to face. If that is your situation, we can still get together in online NET groups to connect, laugh, encourage, and inspire each other. And we can still worship in our homes, just like we do in the Throne Room.

We all know it’s going to be very different this year, but we’re so excited about starting TeenStreet Life in this crazy new world we find ourselves in. And we can’t wait to introduce new people to TeenStreet, because let’s face it, going online means anyone from Lapland to Malta, and from Ireland to Russia can join in. How cool is that?

Keep up to date on this page and learn everything you want to know about TS20 in the various tabs above.

Registration will be available from June 20th and we can’t wait to see you @TeenStreet Life 2020!

FAQs & Important Info

Dates & Times

When will TeenStreet Life 2020 begin?

The TeenStreet Life event will kick off at 17:00 (5pm) on Tuesday 4th August and finish at around 21:00 (9pm) on Saturday 8th August. There will be a 2 hour Interact session in the mornings on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and an evening session each day from 17:00 – 21:00 (5-9pm).

Checkout the “Schedule” tab above.

For Groups

How can we join TeenStreet Life as a group?

We desire to support youth groups throughout Europe by offering a TeenStreet-style program that everyone can use for themselves and according to their options, legal freedoms, and group size. We have created a program that gives each group the option to assemble according to its own needs, that has spiritual depth without overcomplicating preparation time.

Please find more information in the ‘For Groups’ tab.

Pricing

How much will TeenStreet Life cost?

The registration fee for all people is 25 euros. There are discounts available for groups.
Registration will be open on June 15! And will close on 17th July.

What do I get for my registration fee?

Your registration fee grants you access to view the livestreamed evening program, including Main Hall and Throne Room. It also gives you access to a personalised online NET group where you can chat, learn and grow with your Coach and other teens.

Also included in your registration is access to all the exclusive online seminars which will feature inspiring speakers from around the world.

If TeenStreet Life is online – why is there a registration fee at all?

We would love to offer TeenStreet for free, but the reality is that going online has its own associated costs. We have to cover the costs of hosting all the data that is being streamed, the professional video conferencing fees and a host of other costs related to having licences to stream music and lyrics.

Please be assured that we have tried to make the registration fee as low as we can to make it affordable for everyone.

Throne Room will be free for all who do not register.

Will I get a refund if my situation changes?

If you register and pay, but for some reason you’re unable to participate in TeenStreet Life, you will receive a 50% refund if you let us know before the close of registration on 17th July.
After 17th July, there will be no refunds for registration fees.

Still have questions?

My question isn’t answered on this page, how can i get an answer?

We are here to help, please email your question to TS in your country. You can find the contact details for each country on the Contact page.

For groups

TeenStreet 2020 for groups and churches

Is there anything better than motivating and enabling young people to live a true friendship with Jesus so that they reflect Him daily in their lives? This is what drives us at TeenStreet!

For more than 25 years, TeenStreet has been taking place every summer in Germany with about 4000 participants from all over Europe.

But for this year we would like to offer you and your youth group a programme instead, which has been completely redesigned both as an online version and for a meeting at your location.

We asked ourselves, how can we support youth groups in Europe to thaw out of the lockdown and social-distancing period? By offering a TeenStreet-style programme that everyone can use on their own, according to their own possibilities, legal freedoms and group size. We want to offer different modules so that each group can build their own program. But the whole thing must be a program that has spiritual depth but does not take forever to prepare.

TeenStreet Life can be participated in various forms, depending on your local restrictions:

  • As a youth group, in the form of a week of action at the church
  • As a small group with friends at home, with your own small group leader
  • As an individual
  • As a small group leader who leads a small group in his region or virtually

The main program components:

17:00-17:40 Curious? Main Program

During Curious? (‘Curious?’ is this year’s TeenStreet theme), the TeenStreet speaker team leads the Bible studies on the day’s theme with several creative contributions. (The program will be synchronously translated into German, but is also available in the original English version).

17:40 -20:00 Flexible block with content

Everyone can plan this time for themselves. According to TeenStreet culture, the following elements are planned:

  • Shhh time: at least 15 minutes of silence to reflect on the Bible study, listen to God, and rest.
  • Big Adventure (approx. 60 min): Here, your small groups (NET groups) explore the daily topic in more depth together.  The Big Adventure offers personal questions and further explanations, which are answered in the small group or by each participant individually. Each small group should be led by a group leader.
  • Dinner: because nothing works with an empty stomach!

20:00 – 20:45 Throne Room

The Throne Room is our time of worship with reflections on the topic of the day. This part is done by the TeenStreet band from the Faroe Islands. As the Faroe Islands are coronavirus free, they can meet a few hundred people and create the Throne Room atmosphere.

Additional program elements:

Webinars and workshops:

Volunteer at TeenStreet

  • Coach
  • M&Ms
  • Service Team
  • Prayer

Coaching at TeenStreet involves loving, supporting, teaching and encouraging a NET group of around six teens. We ask Coaches to be pointing teens toward Jesus and to challenge them through their words and example. We are also committed to developing Coaches through our training days, M&M mentoring and support that takes place during TeenStreet.

This year, Coaches will be expected to participate during the evening program (17:30-20:00) and to meet their M&Ms each day (4-8th August). If you are available during the Interact sessions in the mornings and after Throne Room, that would be a great opportunity to connect with the broader TeenStreet community!

This year, Coaches will meet daily with their M&Ms via video call.

The M&M role is to serve, support and invest in the Coaches. Coaching can be an intense experience and M&Ms play a valuable role in providing a listening ear and encouragement.

M&M couples are often made up of a male and a female, who can work together with the team of Coaches under their care. They are generally mature adults who are a good judge of character and situations and capable in the area of pastoral care.

This year, M&Ms will meet daily with their Coaches via video call.

The Service Team this year will be critical in ensuring the online experience is smooth, engaging and positive. If you have experience in the following areas and would like to help out, please get in contact with us.

  • Livestream Video Production
  • Video Conferencing
  • Counselling and/or chaplaincy
  • Social Media

Prayer is a key value of TeenStreet and we are looking to engage a massive prayer movement of praying parents and friends who want to see God move powerfully in this generation.

We want to invite you to be part of the team. If you would like to pray for TeenStreet Life, please contact the TS contact person in your country. We will send you prayer points and invite you into online prayer meetings that will run throughout the 5 days of TeenStreet. Where there is much prayer there is much power!

You can contact the office of your country if you want to get involved. You can find country specific contact details on the contact page.

In the city of Rivne, Igor Kovalchuk has a Christian Kick boxing club where training principles is saturated with Biblical truth and values. A group of 16 and 17 year olds from the club have been chosen by Igor and they are being mentored in principles of Biblical leadership. The club has already impacted both the Christian as well as the Kick boxing world to the extend, that Igor has been invited to become the sport psychologist for the association of Kick boxing in the Rivne province giving him a platform to share about the Love of Christ to a vast and varied audience.

Our team in Odessa reaches out to at risk teenagers through club ministries including a “piligirm outdoor club”, teen girls club as well as being involved in an acting club. In all these activities the team works on the principles of experiential learning. The ministry includes summer camp outreaches, hikes for at risk teens and training seminars in how to start and run clubs for unbelieving teens and for those who grew up in churches and has never made a commitment to follow Christ.

The main goal of this ministry is to give young people a living experience of Christ and of what it means to live for and with Him. Likewise, we aim to mentor these young people and train them up as leaders in their churches and communities. We likewise want to see the young people we reach out to themselves becoming involved in ministry to reach out not only to their own neighbourhoods but so that they will be involved in reaching the unreached. We want to empower the church to multiply this ministry through training and mentoring.

Support TeenStreets around the world

We want to see teens in other parts of the world to having a similar experience as we have at TeenStreet Europe. We dream of starting, or growing, TeenStreet on the African. Therefore, we want to use 20% of what we raise at RAG to support new TeenStreets.

RAG Report of 2019

In 2019 we were able to raise an incredible 80.000€ which was used to help fund the start of TeenStreets in several areas of the world as well as to help the projects in Serbia, Greece and Italy working with refugee teenagers and children – you made a real difference.

Food Distribution Refugee Camps

Basic food supply packages were given to newly arrived refugees, as well as helping to fund places for the teens to hang out providing them with safe place to be, alongside some language classes and a safe environment for completing homework. Workers are needed to help in these camps and some of their wages were covered alongside transport costs to ensure that those that needed the help were able to receive it. Some more sports equipment was purchased alongside a laptop which was used to help run an online Alpha course, as well as for a washing machine so that they could have clean clothes.

Also, there was the possibility to hold a Christmas Celebration for some teens and children who are without parents as well as to provide help during the Covid-19 crisis with access to online schooling as well as medical check-ups.

the TeenStreet Life main speakers

Aaron Lewis

I’m from the UK but I’ve been living in Spain for the past 6 years where I work with youth and young adults. I love travelling and being outside - in my free time you’ll find me in the mountains or at the beach. Last year at TeenStreet I played guitar in the worship band and I’m so excited to join the speakers team this year! Fun fact: this photo was taken at TeenStreet last year during one of the rehearsals!

Cécile Chollet

I’m from Switzerland and I work part-time as an occupational therapist and sometimes as a makeup artist. I love life! There is so much God gave us to explore! I like to sing, I run, I like music and shoes... But I really enjoy being around people and hearing their stories. I am passionate about sharing what a life with Jesus looks like. As a teen, Teenstreet has played a big role in developing my relationship with Jesus. I think it's a great place to build foundations on which you can continue growing during the rest of the year!

Rich & Rachel Hendrikson

Rich and Rachel have been living in France for 10 years. Originally from the United States, they moved to France to serve in youth ministry. They work with a local church and have been involved in Teenstreet since 2016. They have three amazing kids, love to travel, enjoying eating sushi, watching movies together, and love getting to be a part of what God does through TeenStreet.

Bryan Haboldt

Bryan HaboldtI'm from the Netherlands and I'm a youth pastor. I host the youth event Changed and speak in different churches throughout the year. Fun fact: I have a parakeet that I taught to speak around 15 words. I am engaged to Kelly and we will get married some time after TeenStreet. It’s exciting to be part of the speakers team this year!

Throne Room

Make your home the Throne Room!

Throne Room, for those who haven’t been to TeenStreet before, is the place where we worship and respond to God.

And there’s nothing stopping you from creating your own Throne Room in your home. God’s presence is everywhere, so we can experience his Throne Room wherever we are.

We would really encourage you to make the most of the evening Throne Room times to engage and connect with God through worship. Why not turn out the lights, maybe hang up some fairy lights, and enter God’s Throne Room right at home!

Interact Seminars & Events

Learn, grow and be inspired!

We are so excited to see you guys equipped, inspired and encouraged to be radical for Jesus!

This year at TeenStreet Life, there will be Interact activities in the morning where you’ll login to Interact seminars and events. In these online meetings, you’ll learn from, and be inspired by, awesome people doing great things for Jesus.

We’ll keep adding more great hosts in the lead up to TeenStreet Life, so stay tuned to this page to find out who else you can sit and chat with during the Interact sessions.

Herzstärkend
Herzstärkend

Topic: Bible Art Journaling

Topic: Reading the Bible / Old Testament

Oddur á Lakjuni is from the Faroe Islands. He teaches history and religious studies at a high school level. In his church he leads a bible study group. This is his main passion within Christian ministry: to help others to read and understand God’s Word and to apply it to their lives.

Session 1: Advice on reading the Bible

Many Christians struggle with reading the Bible. They find it difficult to read, and many even don’t like reading it. At the same time they wish it wasn’t so: They don’t like reading the Bible but they wish they liked reading it. If that’s you, then this seminar is for you. I will give a few pieces of advice on what to keep in mind. The advice will be both spiritual and practical, in order to help you get started, to keep going, to make sense of it, and to enjoy it.

Session 2: Making sense of the Old Testament

The Old Testament is made up of many books from different times, with different styles and different purposes. In this seminar I will go through it in order to make sense of the storyline and the timeline. We will look at the history that goes through the Old Testament, and then we will look at how the different books fit into that picture. Getting an overview like this will really help you approach and understand the 39 books of the Old Testament.

NET Groups

What will they look like?

We believe the NET groups are the heart and lifeblood of TeenStreet, a place where you connect and do life with other teens your age, going through the same stuff you’re going through.

And don’t forget the legendary coaches who guide and encourage you throughout TeenStreet.

Even though you might not be in the same room together this year, you’ll still be able to connect with your NET group by logging into your very own online space – just for your NET.

After the main session livestream and Shh Time, you’ll login to your NET group, where you can discuss, share, laugh and pray together.

Curious

Eager to know or learn something

In the Bible,we can read about Jesus’ life when He was here on earth -what he did, where he went, the people he spoke to, the things he said and.. the questions he asked. In the Gospels, Jesus is recorded to have asked over 300 questions! Way more questions than he even answered himself.

When we are CURIOUS, we are eager to learn or know something –and a great way for us to do this is by asking questions. The conversations that Jesus had with people often started with a question; questions to teach them, help them discover for themselves who He was, challenge ideas they had, allow them to grow and, always, to point them to ultimate Truth, to Himself.

Jesus invites us to follow Him –on a faith journey which is full of wonder and a God who is so amazing that we will spend a lifetime learning about Him. When we look at the questions Jesus asked-we can start understanding and discovering who He is, what is important to him why He came and what He calls us to. And when we model Jesus and ask questions about God, life, ourselves and others,we have the chance to grow in our faith and go deeper in our relationship with Him.

Where do we go with our questions about who we are, our purpose, our life experiences, the world we live in? Individually and together with others, we can go to God. God welcomes our curiosity, He welcomes our questions and our doubts and invites us to come to Him as we search for answers. During CURIOUS this year we will look at some questions Jesus asked, discover what we can learn or know from the conversations he had and ask our questions too.

Together we want to be curious about our faith, be persistent as we follow Jesus and eagerly desire to learn and grow as we walk together with a God who is bigger than our wildest imaginations and who loves us more than we can ever measure!

NOTE : by encouraging teens to ask questions/search for answers to questions Jesus asks them, we hope for them to own their faith for themselves, not just to take on someone else’s ideas but deciding for themselves and to learn how to do this by going to the Source, because His response to our questions is faithful. To know that having doubts/questions is ok – there is no need to abandon their beliefs but that they can journey further together with the one who is TRUTH.

Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” (Luke 9:18,20)
